Position Overview:
The Assistant Track Coach for Sprints will assist the Head Track Coach in providing leadership, training, and support to student-athletes participating in the sprint events. The role involves fostering athletic skill development, teamwork, and a positive sports culture that aligns with the values and goals of Fort Morgan High School.
Key Responsibilities:

Coaching and Training:
- Develop and implement training plans for sprint events, including starts, acceleration, and speed endurance.
- Provide technical instruction on sprinting techniques, proper form, and race strategies.
- Conduct engaging and productive practice sessions that promote improvement and peak performance.

Athlete Development:
- Identify and nurture talent among student-athletes while emphasizing individual growth and team contribution.
- Monitor and evaluate athlete progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Promote and model sportsmanship, discipline, and a strong work ethic.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Head Track Coach to align training objectives with overall team goals.
- Coordinate with other assistant coaches to ensure a unified approach across events.
- Support the academic and personal development of student-athletes in collaboration with school staff.

Competition and Events:
- Assist in organizing and managing meet preparation, including warm-ups, race strategies, and event logistics.
- Attend all practices, meets, and team events as scheduled.
- Provide encouragement and motivation during competitions.

Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the safety of all athletes during practices and competitions by following proper protocols and guidelines.
- Adhere to all Fort Morgan High School and Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching or participating in track and field, with a focus on sprints.
- Knowledge of sprinting techniques, training methodologies, and race strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletes, and school staff.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a background check and meet all district employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Coaching, or a related field.
- Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Familiarity with CHSAA rules and regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Evening and weekend availability for practices, meets, and team events.

Salary : $3,750 - $4,500
