What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Fortegra?
The Financial Analyst will be recurring monthly responsibilities that include researching and reporting on revenue and expense variances, to trends and budget, to various levels of management. Additionally, this person will be responsible for assisting with the consolidation of annual and quarterly planning and forecasting processes, and creating financial models for various purposes and ad hoc projects. They will be responsible for presentation materials provided to several internal parties (including the Board of Directors and Shareholders), as well as external parties, for which this role will be actively involved in coordinating with multiple departments to prepare and disseminate materials on a frequent basis.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Finance, Accounting or related discipline preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience, preferably in accounting, financial planning, analysis or related role.
- Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance and warranty products, and related accounting and reporting, preferred.
- Experience in understanding and reporting various business metrics and key performance indicators to support business decisions (i.e. revenues, expenses, ROAE and capital management).
- Knowledge of financial modeling, analysis and planning.
- Oracle experience preferred.
- Support leadership in varying areas of analysis, including but not limited to: monthly management reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
- Perform deep dive analytics and interpret data relative to budget, actual, and prior year as well as historical/multi-year trending (particularly revenue and expense variances).
- Assist in reconciling activity and other various datapoints to the financial ledger, including BI dashboards, transactional system data, etc., and providing commentary on how to address and correct any inconsistencies.
- Identify financial and/or statistical trends and recommend actions to management.
- Coordinate and complete ad hoc projects as assigned, often resulting in working with individuals across the entire organization and presenting to senior level management and/or shareholders.
- Assist with developing forecasts and models across different departments, channels, and countries.
- Regularly communicate with management and key stakeholders, providing various forms of deliverables to assist in making decisions that impact the organization as a whole.
- Coordinate and manage the preparation of multiple financial presentations, including but not limited to: Board of Director and Subcommitee reporting, rating agency reporting, Shareholder requests, etc.
- Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the fields of business and finance
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, with strong organizational skills.

- Proficient in relevant computer software (Microsoft Office products, Oracle EBS, Oracle Analytics, etc.)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure. Must be logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail, and able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to understand and communicate/present detailed and advanced business solutions to all levels of the organization and external clients, providing the appropriate level of detail and focus on the right information.
- Advanced excel based skills for financial analysis and modeling.
- Ability to follow, prepare and present complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform standardized and statistical computations.
