Description
Forza Steel has been a top tier manufacturer of API and mechanical grade tubing for over twenty years in Mexico and are excited to now be moving into the United States. We will be manufacturing electric resistance welded mechanical and API steel tubing in our state-of-the art facility in Brownsville, Texas.
SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting product that has been manufactured at the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs assigned routine tests on materials, equipment, goods in process, finished goods and/or materials where results are compared with company, client or regulatory body standards.
- Performs visual inspections, when necessary, to determine quality of product to ensure compliance with standards.
- Communicates with all relevant parties when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when incidents of quality are noted.
- Records defect results on forms, charts or reports and maintains records of inspection data, quality levels or any studies relevant to quality inspections.
- Makes recommendations to relevant parties regarding the disposition of inspection results.
- Support Commissioning Test Memos.
- Supports Continuous Improvement Activities.
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators.
- Verifies and witnesses all pipe welding joint preparations.
- Verifies that welding personnel is working with the latest WPS revision.
- Verifies that the welding personnel are certified for the job being performed.
- Verifies that all NDT are performed and documented properly.
- Performs and provides support with pipe welding inspections.
- Performs and supports with in-process inspections.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma
- Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, kneel, squat, twist and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
