Description
The Quality Control Supervisor oversees the inspection and testing of materials, parts and products to ensure all meet regulatory compliance and customer expectations before they are shipped out of the Brownsville facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
- Develop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of high-quality products.
- Coordinate with production managers to identify and resolve quality issues in the manufacturing process.
- Review quality documentation necessary for regulatory submissions and inspections.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of quality control staff to ensure a competent workforce.
- Analyze data from quality testing to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement.
- Facilitate audits and inspections by external bodies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities identified during internal or external audits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff.
- Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
- Expertise in ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Requirements & SOPs (knowledge/experience)
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Business, with 4 to 6 years of business development experience in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, kneel, squat, twist and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
