Position Summary
We’re seeking an In-house Legal Counsel – Finance & Capital Markets to join our dynamic in-house legal team. This individual will work closely with business leads, external counsel, and key stakeholders to support complex financing and investment transactions, including tax equity, project finance, corporate lending, and capital markets activity. The ideal candidate will bring deep transactional experience, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset to a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on and negotiate financing transactions including tax equity, debt, construction loans, and corporate credit facilities.
- Support capital markets activities, including private placements and other strategic financing initiatives.
- Partner with internal business teams (finance, corporate development, project teams) and external counsel to ensure smooth execution of transactions.
- Provide legal support on corporate structuring, intercompany agreements, and investor reporting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financing best practices and playbooks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements related to financing and securities laws.
- Monitor relevant legal and policy developments impacting project finance and renewable energy investments.
Qualifications
- J.D. from a top-tier law school; licensed and in good standing in New York or Washington, D.C.
- Minimum 5 years of experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department, focused on finance, capital markets, or project finance.
- Prior exposure to the renewable energy sector or infrastructure finance strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of tax equity, debt finance, and capital markets structures.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a high degree of business acumen and strategic thinking.
Salary : $225,000 - $260,000
