Description
Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor, provides support in all aspects of Information Technology services to the patrons and staff within the District.
Full-time position: Non-exempt, 37.5 hours per week. Includes day, evening and weekend hours
Hourly Wage Range: $20.59-$30.89, with a starting wage of $20.59/hour

DUTIES
- Serves as first responder for internal helpdesk system for staff and addresses Information Technology issues in a timely manner.
- Assists in monitoring all Information Technology system functions and assists in their proper operation.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of written documentation of department procedures.
- Assists in the support of building audio visual and automation technology.
- Assists in the training of staff on Information Technology services.
- Compiles and interprets statistics and prepares reports.
- Keeps current of all new technological procedures, processes and equipment.
- Attends professional meetings as appropriate.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Requires expertise acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree in a field consistent with the responsibility of the position.
Experience: One (1) year proven experience providing support for Information Technology systems and end users.
Skills:
- Knowledge of productivity suites.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work with technical jargon and translate it to the library workplace.
- Ability to exercise reasonable and independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to adapt to and effectively implement change.
Information Technology:
- Demonstrated abilities with troubleshooting Windows and OS X software and hardware.
- Familiarity with Windows and OS X operating systems.
- Familiarity with Apple computers and operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and networking troubleshooting skills.
Communication:
- Strong customer service skills.
- Communicates effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to stay calm and effective in difficult situations.
- Ability to empathize and relate to the needs of all patrons

Work is performed in a typical office environment. Full-time position. Will require some weekend and evening work.
