What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Legal Affairs position at FOUR WINDS CASINO RESORTS?

SUMMARY:
Directly oversees all aspects of contract management. Supports the creation, implementation and direction of all Legal and Risk Management Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Serves under the direction of the Director of Legal Affairs.
  • Day to day management of contracts made or to be made with vendors, partners, or employees, under the direction of the Director of Legal Affairs.
  • Contract review, negotiation, and drafting of various types of agreements, including procurement and service contracts and leases.
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal and external customers on contractual matters. Act as contractual "middleman" between internal departments and vendors.
  • Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions with Legal Affairs executives, senior management input, and organizational needs and expectations.
  • Prepare various reports on the status of contracts for management.
  • Interface with insurance companies regarding adequacy of coverage and contractual insurance requirements as well as oversee the overall management of vendor certificates of insurance.
  • Perform legal research and draft memoranda in support of miscellaneous requests from Legal Affairs executives.
  • Implementing and/or maintaining systems and software to ensure accurate tracking and record-keeping in order to fulfill contractual obligations, including all contract renewals, expirations, and terminations.
  • Works closely with the Legal Affairs Administrator(s) as he/she provides support to the Manager.
  • Ensures accuracy, thoroughness, and at all times maintains the highest level of confidentiality. Maintain strictest confidence concerning all contract terms and conditions, negotiation discussions, and potential business opportunities.
  • May assist with the management of record requests from outside agencies with the goal of being cooperative, while still protecting the interests of the operation.
