What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mass Torts and Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal position at Fox Law APC?
We are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Litigation and Mass Torts Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of plaintiff personal injury law and experience in handling PI and mass tort cases from start to finish. Responsibilities include client intake, researching, preparing pleadings, requesting medical records, drafting discovery requests, calendaring, client correspondence, and managing the filing of court documents. The successful candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with clients and client intake.
- Request medical records and follow up with medical providers.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trial.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Draft and respond to discovery.
- Organize and maintain case files.
- Interview clients and witnesses.
- Gather evidence and prepare affidavits.
- Summarize depositions, medical records, and other documents.
- Assist with client communications and gathering client materials.
- Working up cases from pre-litigation to post-trial motions.
- Communicating regularly with clients and obtaining their documents.
- Assisting in management of deadlines.
- Management of electronic information, document management, and document review including bates-stamping, scanning, coding, and searching in complex litigation.
- Assisting attorneys in developing case facts and strategies.
- Creation of privilege logs.
- Preparing trial exhibits.
- Assisting at hearings and trials.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years of paralegal experience in litigation.
- Experience with preparing cases for trial and assisting throughout trial.
- 4-year undergraduate degree preferred.
- Familiarity with working up cases from pre-litigation to post-trial motions.
- Ability to draft client and opposing counsel correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Proficiency in Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, Familiarity with E-Discovery and law programs such as, Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, OneLegal.
- A successful candidate will be detail oriented and organized, be a team player, be reliable, and capable of multitasking and managing several time-critical projects under tight deadlines.
- This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
