Job Summary
The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for assessing, treating, and managing residents with various wound types and skin integrity issues. This role involves collaborating with physicians to create treatment plans, administering wound care, and educating staff on best practices. The nurse ensures optimal skin integrity outcomes by evaluating the effectiveness of treatments and maintaining proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assess all residents with wounds and pressure ulcers.
- Assess and consult for all residents with skin integrity issues as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop a plan of treatment.
- Administer wound care treatment to residents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of treatments, documenting progress and changes in residents' skin condition.
- Communicate results and concerns to the physician, Director of Nursing, and other associates as needed.
