The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor is looking for an Activities Coordinator to work at St. Clare Convent.
Job Overview
The Activities Coordinator plans, organizes and carries out activities and programs designed to support and enhance the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of our sisters through interaction, exercise, relaxation, entertainment and opportunities to express creative talents. Provides personalized attention for the emotional, social and spiritual needs of the sisters in accordance with any limitations or restrictions that may be present.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with the Campus Administrator, Local Community Ministers, Magnificat Care Manager, Health Care Nurse and others involved in the well-being, enhancement of life quality and safety of the sisters. This includes attending meetings with individuals/teams to plan, inform and garner assistance in effectively communicating and implementing activities, events, etc.
- Plans, schedules and implements recreational programs to meet the various needs and interests of the sisters in accordance with their abilities. This may include but is not limited to crafts, games, entertainment, and TV/Online programs.
- Collaborates with external community groups and entertainers to bring a range of events and activities to the community.
- Encourages participation in religious activities to fulfill their spiritual needs through attending services when possible, spiritual reading material, viewing online resources, etc.
- Facilitates group activities, discussions, and social events, fostering a sense of community and connection.
- STNA Certification preferred.
- Plans special events and celebrations.
- Orders (purchases), organizes and maintain supplies, materials, and equipment needed for activities.
- Continually assesses and adapts programs based on resident feedback, participation levels, and emerging trends.
- Provide reports on program participation, feedback and suggested improvements.
- Ensures that all activities and events adhere to safety guidelines and community policies.
- Stays updated on best practices in senior care, wellness and activities programming.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including some weekends or evenings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
