ABOUT FRANKLIN COUNTY MUNICIPAL COURT
The Franklin County Municipal Court is the largest and busiest municipal court in the State of Ohio. The Court has fourteen judges in the General Division and one judge in the Environmental Division. Judges preside over civil, criminal, and traffic cases and conduct both jury and court trials. JOB PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW
The Grants Coordinator reports to the Director of Finance & Management. The Grants Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Finance & Management and other decision-makers to secure funding for the Court through the preparation of proposals and grant applications. This position is responsible for all professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to public and private grant opportunities. To develop proposals, the Grants Coordinator will familiarize themselves with the organization's programs, goals, and financial needs. The Grant Coordinator will identify and research potential funding sources. After compiling all necessary information, the Grants Coordinator will compose and submit the grant proposals to funding entities and track the outcomes of submitted applications.
The Grants Coordinator must manage their grants calendar, reporting requirements, and deliverables. If a grant-making organization requests additional information, this position will supply the missing items. The ideal candidate will bring grant writing experience and a high level of proficiency with grant management platforms and related programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
1. Research funding sources and write grant proposals to various governments, private foundations, and other grant-making organizations.
2. Identify funding opportunities and new program areas that align with Court priorities.
3. Prepare and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations in accordance with business goals and objectives.
4. Monitor the proposal process and ensure the funder's policies and legal requirements are followed.
5. May negotiate contractual provisions with potential partners.
6. Coordinates all grant submissions, major contracts, and compliance documents.
7. Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and performance and fiscal reports.
8. Prioritize tasks to keep multiple projects progressing, meet deadlines, and manage multiple grant submissions.
9. Maintains meticulous records of grant activities and provides grant updates to Judges, Court Administration and Department Managers.
10. Writes reports to government, non-profits, foundations, and other funders.
11. Acts as a liaison with Court staff, funding agencies, and community partners.
12. Works closely with the Director of Finance to provide centralized financial administration and coordination of grant activities, including accurate accounting, financial compliance, monthly financial updates, sustainability planning, and required federal and state compliance.
13. Coordinates with Court Finance Department to initiate contracts, purchases, and job postings related to grant awards.
14. Review plans and reports to monitor compliance with grant stipulations and program progress.
15. Makes recommendations for program development, completes required forms, and implements standardized use of predefined evaluation tools to monitor outcomes.
16. Collects and manages required financial and program documents for department audit and reimbursement purposes.
17. Perform other duties as assigned and may be assigned temporarily to other special projects or positions in different departments of the Court if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, English, Education, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing.
2. Two to four years of related experience with local, state, and federal grants applicable to government entities. The Court will consider a degree in criminal justice, a related field, coursework, leadership experience in clubs, volunteer work, internships, or community service in place of formal work experience.
3. Proven track record in securing new funding opportunities.
4. Knowledge of grant administration and program analysis.
5. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Regional grant programs, targeting criminal justice and court administration needs and priorities.
6. Knowledge of governmental budgeting, purchasing, and grant-related financial tracking.
7. Excellent research, written and oral communication skills.
8. Ability to understand the funding needs of the Court and the organizations offering grant funding.
9. Able to understand and execute complex instructions.
10. Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and ability to produce a quality work product within tight time constraints and with minimal supervision.
11. Knowledge of advanced computer operations (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, D365 and Publisher and common social media platforms),
12. Ability to prioritize work and work independently without daily supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master's degree in business administration, Public Administration, English, Education, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing
2. Familiarity with Burau of Justice Assistance Performance Management Platform, JustGrants, Office of Criminal Justice Services Online Grants System, and other major grant reporting platforms.
3. ICM Certification as Certified Court Manager, Court Executive, or ICM Fellow.
4. Considerable knowledge of legal terminology, English vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Additional consideration will be given to individuals with the following qualifications: graduate degree in a related field; coursework in persuasive tactics and public relations a plus. The ability to speak and write Spanish, or a language commonly used by people of Somalia for whom English is a second language or proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
