The History Department is home to numerous faculty and staff members dedicated to providing students with engaging and meaningful classes for future educators. We offer History and Social Studies Adolescence Education programs at the undergraduate level .

KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will :
Teach upper-level classes within their specialization as well as world history surveys;
Engage in research and scholarly work within their area of specialization;
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively, and in a collegial and professional manner, with students, faculty and staff;
Demonstrated commitment to the university, division and profession;
Contribute to curriculum development and refinement;
Provide academic advisement to students;
Participate in committees and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession;
Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.
Requirements :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in History by August ;
A record of scholarship commensurate with years of academic experience;
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education;
Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission;
Experience with instructional technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in secondary-level social studies teaching; and / or experience in teacher preparation for grades 7-12; and / or experience relevant to preparing teacher candidates to work effectively with diverse student populations;
Teaching experience;
Interest in, and commitment to, community engagement.
