Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in addiction counseling and be committed to helping individuals overcome substance use disorders. This role involves providing support and guidance to clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques. The counselor will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans that promote recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, coping strategies, and relapse prevention.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions, encouraging peer support and sharing of experiences among clients.
  • Utilize crisis management techniques to address urgent situations and ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition using ICD-10 coding.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the clinic to coordinate patient care and resources.
  • Engage with families to provide education about addiction, treatment options, and support systems.
  • Stay updated on best practices in chemical dependency counseling and participate in ongoing professional development.

Experience

  • Proven experience in addiction counseling is essential; experience working with children is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Christian counseling principles is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Background in special education or experience working with diverse populations is an advantage.
  • Strong skills in crisis management and patient care are critical for success in this role.
  • Ability to work effectively within an inpatient setting while maintaining a compassionate approach towards clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00 - $63.00 per year
