Freedom Village at Brandywine is recruiting for a hospitality focused Accountant to join our team! Pay starting at 70K, based on experience
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of the Accountant:
- Attend and interact in community Round Table meetings to obtain knowledge about resident census activity (move-ins, move-outs, transfers and deaths).
- Acquire copies of Residency Agreements and Resident Handbook. Review and become knowledgeable with the community services provided.
- Report census changes (move-ins, move-outs, transfers and deaths) to Community Accounting department following their standard procedure.
- Respond to resident and resident’s Power of Attorney regarding billing and financial inquiries.
- Prepare check requests and reimbursement requests for resident refunds according to contractual obligations.
- Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.
- Serves as resource for community department directors on the chart of accounts, invoice coding, approval process and deadlines following the standard procedure.
- Oversee the routing accounts payable invoices for approval (from the time the invoice arrives in the mail).
- Reconciles the departmental debit card logs to invoices. Verifies that all debit card receipts are accounted and submits documents to Community Accounting department for replenishment of the balance as needed.
- Reviews employee expense reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Validates coded invoices (including employee expense reports) AP Express daily.
- Distribute weekly expense spenddown reports to department heads.
- Assists the Director of Financial Services on selecting vendors’ invoices for payment for weekly check run.
- Responds to vendor payment inquiries.
- Follow monthly closing deadlines to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
- Complete monthly accruals as needed.
- Ensure that Capital Expenditures are recorded properly based off of corporate guidelines.
- Utilize corporate reporting tools to track capital expenditure- spend on a timely basis.
- Coordinate archiving of community records.
- Ensure that LCS Connect is utilized frequently to obtain the most current forms and updated policies and procedures.
- Assist Director of Financial Services with annual budgeting process.
- Assist Director of Financial Services with monthly financial review if needed.
- Assist with Corporate inquiries
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- Associate’s degree in accounting required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in accounting role and accounts payable.
- Proficiency in the English language enabling the employee to read, write, comprehend and communicate simple instructions, correspondence, memos, etc.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products, Shared Point and Box.
- Must demonstrate excellent telephone communication skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate and timely reports to meet required deadlines
- Ability to train small to medium sized groups of employees
