FreeStar Financial Credit Union is looking for a dynamic and passionate professional to join our accounting team! If you are someone who is detailed, able to follow procedures, and can perform routine accounting and clerical functions, this may be the right job for you!
Salary Range: $20/Hour
Job Location: Clinton Township
Schedule: Monday thru Friday
Benefits:
- 3 weeks PTO available in the first year

Purpose Of This Position:
The purpose of an Accounting Specialist is to support our members and team members ensuring compliance and accuracy performing a variety of duties pertaining to accounting functions.
What You'll Do In This Role:
Accounting Specialists post exceptions and daily balancing for ATM, ITM, Debit Card, Visa, Share Draft and ACH (Automated Clearing House).
Post general ledger entries.
Accounting Specialist's balance daily work for branches - Check 21.
Balance subsidiary accounts to the Accounting general ledger on a daily basis.
Perform Accounting month end balancing processes.
Balance corporate checks and money orders.
Send and receive wire transfers, process ACH originations.
What You'll Bring To FreeStar Financial:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
Three to five years of Accounting and/or related experience in the financial industry preferred.
Must have knowledge of various federal regulations and the responsibilities relating to each act of the following:

- Regulation E (EFTS)
- Regulation CC (Funds Availability)
- Truth in Savings Act
- Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
- ACH Rules
