Freight Sales Position
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Freight Sales Representative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business, managing client accounts, and ensuring the smooth execution of freight shipments. This role requires a mixture of sales expertise and logistical knowledge, as well as strong communication skills to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Generation: Identify and prospect potential customers in need of freight shipping solutions, including but not limited to local, regional, and international shipments.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Market Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest trends, regulations, and best practices in freight and logistics to provide the best solutions to customers.
- Target Achievement: Meet and exceed sales goals and performance targets by effectively managing a pipeline of prospects and closing new businesses.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and customer interactions. Provide regular sales reports to management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in freight sales, shipping, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the freight shipping industry, including shipping methods, pricing structures, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and understand their business needs.
- Knowledge of international shipping is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Logistics or a related field.
- Brokerage Shipper Sales.
- Shipper Onboarding.
- Existing relationships with large shippers.
- Experience working with both LTL (Less Than Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload) shipments.
- Familiarity with customs documentation for international freight.
- Previous experience in a commission-based sales role.
