What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatch Supervisor position at Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc?
Purpose of Position :
Supervise and coordinate the activities of Tricont truck drivers / lead drivers. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others. The Dispatch supervisor also plays a vital role in ensuring the company’s continued success by ensuring they are dependable, focused on safety and to be flexible and cooperative. The Dispatch Supervisor should have extensive knowledge of DOT rules and regulations and possess the ability to successfully staff, recruit, and mentor CDL Drivers.
Accountabilities :
- Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers by exceeding their expectations
- Assisting with Carrier / Broker sourcing and development is a key function of this position
- Dispatch Company controlled freight and supported sales and commodity group managers.
- Maintain billing and dispatch accuracy of 98% or greater
- Follow company policy for processes and procedures
- Maintain on time Pick-Up and Delivery performance of 97% or better
- Update / track carrier / driver location information within company guidelines
- Maintain carrier profile information
- Back up other dispatch positions
- Manage other logistics coordinators or dispatcher
- Assist Manager or Director, Logistics Services in leadership duties and reports when instructed
- Dispatching drivers
- Make sure and coordinating between carrier drivers / dispatch and customers on load information
- Scheduling drivers / Carriers
- Problem solves driver / carrier issues
