Project Estimator

Job Summary

Friedges Contracting and Excavating is looking to add an experienced Project Estimator to join our team in Lakeville, MN

We are looking for the right candidate that must have a minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager/Estimator and knowledge of Earthwork and Site Utilities. Pay depends on experience, we will pay top dollar for the right people

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Actively seek and estimate local upcoming jobs
• Prepare budgets and create schedules for awarded projects and maintain these requirements throughout the entire job from start to finish.
• Communicate with the Superintendent or Foreman’s to ensure the project is executed in a timely manner
• Ensure weekly meetings for project reviews with team members.
• Contact subcontractors for bidding and ensure subcontractors can complete job schedules.
• Execute change orders in a timely manner to the project owner(s) and team members.
• Manage Client/Owner relationships and ensure that clients are satisfied.
• Approve subcontractor(s) and material invoices to ensure payment is made in a timely manner.
• Communicate with the accounting department to ensure owner payments are being received, subcontractors are being paid on time and lien waivers are collected upon payment.

Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of experience as a Project Manager or Estimator and experience with water, sewer and street construction or excavation
• Technical writing, organization skills and interpersonal communication skills is a must
• Strong Estimating skills are preferred
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Software: Excel, Word and Outlook
• Heavy Bid or AGTEK software program knowledge is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
