The Project Estimator will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to build successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects using tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and necessary resources.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and timelines for projects.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information for accurate estimating.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Provide ongoing support to the construction team by addressing any estimating-related inquiries or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully managing contracts.
- Knowledge of cost control measures and techniques in a construction environment.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents related to construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
