Position Overview:
The Discipleship Pastor is responsible for overseeing and bringing vision to the area of Small Groups. In consultation with the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor, the Discipleship Pastor is expected to develop a relational strategy of ministry that connects with and builds bridges in all areas of ministry at Frontline Community Church. In addition, the Discipleship Pastor will have the freedom to prayerfully recruit, nurture, train, and coordinate a team of committed leaders who will invest in the lives of both the members and attenders of Frontline. This position is expected to maximize a discipleship approach to ministry by providing ongoing opportunities for outreach and service.

Professional Qualifications:
- Be a self-starter with drive, passion, and initiative
- Excellent relational skills
- Excellent communicator with a vision to rally individuals to see a preferred future of ministry
- Demonstrate strong leadership and ability to set and achieve goals
- A proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and above-reproach character
- Ability to engage difficult issues and individuals, while courageously shepherding people toward wholeness
- Experience in assisting a church or similar organization in developing and successfully implementing comprehensive new programs
- Seminary training or ministerial ordination required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meets regularly with Executive Pastor for communication between ministries
- Building the discipleship value at the church
- Must embrace the ability to work well on a team and within a community environment, and be skilled at promoting innovation through collaboration
- An ability to teach, lead classes and lead meetings for volunteers
- Providing oversight and vision to small groups
- Create, develop, and direct year-round ministries for adults (specifically targeted to grow in discipleship and train disciple-makers)
- Provides opportunities for people to connect into increasingly deeper levels of community and ensure the spiritual vitality of each involved
- Leadership, growth, and innovation of Frontline’s small groups ministry
- To lead teams effectively and to raise new leaders
- Coordinate connection events and ministry opportunities for people to get assimilated
- Have a healthy, mature, growing relationship with God and commit to Jesus Christ. To be a person of Christlike character and whose life reflects the filling of the Holy Spirit.
- Have both the spiritual and relational warmth that reflects the heart of Christ for others and draws people to himself/herself as a spiritual leader in their lives.
- Develop, lead, and coordinate new Discipleship leaders for Discipleship Ministries
- Develop and lead members & guests along an adult discipleship strategy that moves adults along a continuum of non-Christian to Christ-centered followers
- Oversee the Congregational Care and Connections Pastors
- Serves on the Ministry Leadership Team (MLT)
- Assist in planning the budget for all ministry-related programs of direct reports that impact the life-long faith formation of the church membership
- Develop a M.A.P (Ministry Action Plan) each quarter to review with Executive Pastor
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor
