Responsibilities:
- Adhere to rules, procedures, safe work practices, health and safety standards and use of personal protective equipment
- Report and investigate all near misses/incidents/accidents resulting in personal injury or property damage
- Practice and implement Food Safety & Quality policies and procedures
- Manage the inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
- Develop and manage budgets, tracking expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Identify process improvements and equipment upgrades to improve efficiency and reduce maintenance needs
- Manage the record and documentation for all maintenance activities including work orders and equipment history
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support projects and new equipment installations
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions
- Actively communicate with other departments such as, production, quality, and R&D to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities
- Verify that all safety measures are practiced before working on any piece of equipment
- Provide training/education to the maintenance crew on proper preventative and breakdown maintenance to prevent costly downtimes
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team and contractors
- Sense of urgency to effectively correct issues, and prioritize tasks and activities
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Adaptability to receive feedback to improve quality and efficiency of work
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 6-8 years of maintenance manufacturing experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a supervisor/manager
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.; be able to stand, bend, lift, twist, and turn for extended periods of time
- Must be motivated, able to multi-task and problem solve, be task and detail oriented, and work effectively in a team environment
- Must be safety and quality conscious
- Flexibility is required due to business needs; advanced notice will be given
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as required
- Exposure to cold and warm temperatures for extended periods of time
- Constant awareness of surroundings to ensure safety procedures are upheld
