What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, Portfolio Governance position at FS Investments?
**This is a Philadelphia based role. Must be able to commute in the greater Philadelphia area 4 days a week in-office.
The Portfolio Governance Team supports the entire FS Family of funds providing detailed reporting, liquidity management, valuation management, and support to the front office investment teams. The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including portfolio managers and analysts, sub-advisors, custodians, fund administrators, compliance, and finance teams.
The Portfolio Governance Analyst will work within the broader Portfolio Operations team supporting portfolio activities.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Manage liquidity for the portfolio by synthesizing data from various areas such as cash, trading activity, settlements and borrowing capacity of the leverage facilities.
- Manage communication and oversight of portfolio activities, ensuring accuracy of all activity and data flow for reporting between front, middle and back-office parties.
- Lead portfolio and fund onboarding activities, working with internal and external teams to understand business needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Improve processes, procedures and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Research and resolve inquiries related to the operational efficiencies of the portfolio.
- Compile data and prepare detailed performance reporting regarding valuations and returns, ensuring performance is in line with expectations.
- Provide data and reporting to internal teams and quarterly board reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or comparable technical field (Mathematics, Computer Science) preferred.
- Minimum 1-4 years of professional experience in the financial services industry in full-time positions and/or internships.
- Demonstrated strong academic success in college.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Portfolio Management systems. Experience with Geneva a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical skills with the desire to build a career in the asset management industry.
- Strong attention to detail, creative/independent thought, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial corporate culture.
