Job Title: Corporate Controller – Homebuilder

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Lead and manage the accounting function for the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with GAAP.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and forecasts.
- Cost Analysis: Manage cost accounting for homebuilding projects, including tracking project expenses, land acquisition costs, and construction-related costs. Provide insights into cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard company assets.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate and manage annual audits, tax filings, and other financial compliance activities.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, setting performance expectations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Financial Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that support the company’s growth objectives and operational goals.
- Software & Tools: Leverage financial software and systems (experience with Brix, BuildPro, or similar platforms is a plus) to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a corporate controller role within the homebuilding or real estate industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA is a plus.
- Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of homebuilding financials, including project cost management, land acquisition, and construction finance.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and developing an accounting team, with a focus on performance management and team development.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with accounting software (Brix, BuildPro, or similar tools preferred), and advanced Excel skills.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong financial analysis and modeling skills with the ability to provide strategic insights based on data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
