We have an Oil & Gas client seeking to hire a Laboratory Technician - Chemist to join their team based in Allentown, PA . In this role, you will support the Product Development Team by conducting laboratory experiments, developing new materials for gas separation membrane applications, and collaborating closely with a Senior Scientist.

Work Schedule : 40 hours a week / Monday-Friday
Work type : W2 Contract with potential for direct hire based on your willingness to relocate to St. Louis, MO wafter the 2-year contract is completed
Estimated Duration : March 17, 2025 – March 17, 2027
Rate : Hourly with 1.5x OT

Relocation : Potential relocation to St. Louis, MO after 2 years (contingent on performance)
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct chemical synthesis, material analysis, and product evaluations under the guidance of a Senior Scientist.
Perform laboratory experiments following established procedures while maintaining safety standards.
Document experiments accurately, including observations and results.
Assist in maintaining laboratory chemical inventory and analytical equipment.
Utilize analytical techniques to characterize materials and test polymers.
Support the development of weekly work objectives and prepare data analysis for team discussions.
Identify opportunities to improve laboratory equipment operations and procedures.
Qualifications :
B.S. in Chemistry or a closely related field, or A.S. with 0-2 years of related industrial experience.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment, with the ability to follow procedures precisely.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team.
Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
Experience in chemical research is a plus but not required.
Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals according to established protocols.
