What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) (PT M,T,Th,F 2-7pm) position at Full Armor Supportive Care?
As a Direct Support Professional for Full Armor Supportive Care, you will assist in the development of the program; implementation of individual program goals, plan and implement community and home-based activities focusing on participant’s choices; assist with personal care as needed and assigned; assist and/or substitute for fellow DSP as needed. The Direct Support Professional will report to the Field Supervisor of Full Armor Supportive Care.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Reliable transportation
· At least 21 years old
Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the characteristics and concepts of developmental disabilities and related conditions
- Ability to implement and follow the policies and procedures of the position
- Ability to engage in the care and assist others
- Ability to provide basic nursing care, personal care, and hygiene
- Ability to participate with professional staff in the design and implementation of training and programmatic activities.
- Ability to observe the rights and personal dignity of others.
- Ability to observe, record and report individuals’ behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
- Ability to perform simple math and communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals and other employees.
Experience:
Experience in the care, training, rehabilitation and of individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities required
License: Driver's license (Required based on position)
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and registry search, must obtain and maintain certification in behavior management, first aid and CPR, unannounced drug testing.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
