Job Summary
Full Life Church is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated Children’s/Nursery Pastor to oversee and develop ministry for infants through elementary-aged children. The Children’s/Nursery Pastor will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and biblically grounded environment where children can grow in their faith. This role involves recruiting and training volunteers, planning age-appropriate lessons, and coordinating children’s activities and events. The Children’s/Nursery Pastor will work closely with the Senior Pastor and other staff members to ensure that the ministry aligns with the vision and mission of the church.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Ministry Leadership:
- Develop and lead all aspects of the children’s and nursery ministry, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children to learn about God.
- Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate Bible lessons, activities, and programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged children.
- Oversee nursery care during worship services and church events, ensuring that all volunteers are trained, prepared, and equipped to provide high-quality care.
2. Volunteer Recruitment & Development:
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve in the children’s and nursery ministries.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and training for volunteers to help them develop in their roles and grow in their faith.
- Foster a team-oriented culture among volunteers and encourage them in their service.
3. Curriculum & Program Development:
- Select and implement biblically-based, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with the overall vision and doctrine of the church.
- Plan and execute special programs, such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), children’s camps, holiday events, and family-focused services.
- Adapt and update programs to meet the needs of the children and their families.
4. Safety & Security:
- Ensure that all nursery and children’s ministry areas are safe, clean, and secure for all children.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, including child check-in/check-out protocols, background checks for all volunteers, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an effective communication system between parents and volunteers, keeping parents informed about their child’s activities and progress.
5. Parent & Family Engagement:
- Establish a strong partnership with parents and families, offering resources and support to help them nurture the spiritual growth of their children.
- Communicate regularly with parents about children’s ministry events, needs, and opportunities.
- Provide counseling, support, and prayer for families as needed.
6. Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Senior Pastor, staff members, and ministry leaders to ensure the children’s ministry aligns with the overall church vision and mission.
- Collaborate with other ministries to integrate children and families into the life of the church, including intergenerational events and services.
- Participate in church meetings, staff planning sessions, and other activities to ensure a cohesive ministry strategy.
7. Administrative & Financial Oversight:
- Manage the children’s ministry budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively for ministry needs and growth.
- Oversee the ordering of supplies, resources, and curriculum for ministry programs.
- Provide regular reports on ministry activities, growth, and needs to the Senior Pastor and church leadership.

**Qualifications:**
Education:
- A degree in Children’s Ministry, Christian Education, or a related field is preferred.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Credentialed (or willing to get credentials) through the Assembly of God.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in children’s or nursery ministry, with proven leadership and program development skills.
Spiritual Maturity:
- A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to helping children grow in their understanding of God’s Word.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to engage children and create an environment where they feel safe, loved, and valued.
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers, parents, and church staff.
- Knowledge of child development and best practices for children's ministry.
