What are the responsibilities and job description for the SAFETY COORDINATOR position at Full Vision Inc?
Primary Responsibility: To exercise leadership for the Full Vision Health and Safety Program. Support and assist the Compliance Manager with the daily Health and Safety functions.
Essential Functions: Requires continuous sitting or standing for extended periods. Requires extensive use of hands for keyboard data entry. Requires compatibility with normal computer screens. Requires frequent standing and walking on concrete surfaces. Requires occasional twisting, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling, and overhead reaching. Requires occasional pushing and pulling with force of 80 pounds. Requires occasional lifting and carrying of parts weighing 80 pounds over moderate distances. Regular attendance and starting on time are essential.
Specific Responsibility Expectation
Training
Coordinate training programs for health and safety. Assist with quality training. Conduct new employee safety orientation training walkthrough. Assist with developing training programs.
Health and Safety Program
Assist in developing company safety and health goals and objectives. Improve and enforce company Health and Safety programs, goals and objectives.
Risk Assessment
Assess hazards and minimize the risk of job-related accidents.
Monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities. Intervene in unsafe activities.
Planning
Participate in new production meeting as required with focus on process hazard analysis
Safety Committee
Facilitate the employee safety committee. Moderate meetings, record notes, prepare meeting agenda and review meeting minutes with committee chair and committee.
OSHA Reporting/Record Keeping
Audit company practices and records to ensure OSHA compliance.
Monitor lost-time injuries and workers compensation claims.
Record accident information on OSHA forms.
Responsible for Annual reporting of OSHA recordable injuries.
JHAs
Develop Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) for new machines and processes. Continually evaluate and improve JHAs for existing machines and processes. Manage Behavior-Based Safety program
Safety Resources
Work with third party safety consultants and other Safety Resources
First Responder
Coordinate first responder program and training.
First responder to company injuries/accidents. Responsible for accident reporting, investigation, and corrective action.
Regulatory Requirements
Familiar with Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, NFPA, etc.) Responsible for monitoring safety and health regulations and provide technical support to company personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations
Quality
Support and adhere to the Quality Management System
Safety Documentation
Assist the Compliance Manager with document control, developing and modifying Health and Safety documents including policies, procedures, and forms.
Continuous Improvement
Work together with manufacturing and engineering on continuous improvements for Safety and Quality. Help champion the Lean Mfg/5S program.
Other duties

Position Requirements
- First Aid and CPR trained (capable of achieving cerification)
- Must be insurable driver cleared for company driving.
- High personal integrity
- High sense of order and organization with good problem solving/analysis skills
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Team oriented with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- High school diploma or GED
- Good computer skills
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical components
Preferred Requirements
- Strong knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and practices
- Experience in reporting to management, state and federal agencies.
- Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures and training programs.
- Experience with a manufacturing company (preferred)
