Summary
Fuller School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy has a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) department with both Master’s and Doctorate-level degree programs. Affiliate faculty instructors applying for this position would teach in the Master’s degree programs which are in-person, residential programs located in Pasadena, CA and Phoenix, AZ. The majority of the courses are taught in person with a few exceptions where courses are taught online.
The MSMFT degree program prepares Master’s level clinicians for LMFT and/or LPCC licensure and has the twofold focus on clinical training and personal/professional formation. An emphasis on spiritual formation is pervasive throughout the curriculum
Availability of positions is variable and dependent upon numbers of students and courses required. Screening of submitted applications begins when a teaching vacancy arises.
This position will focus on teaching systemic theories in an experiential lab setting in person in Pasadena, CA, depending on the need. The core curriculum is provided, but can be tailored to your teaching style beyond the general course design. You will be required to coach students in select systemic theories as they facilitate brief family treatment with actors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach face to face, online synchronous, hybrid, or online asynchronous courses assigned by the Program Director.
- Prepare a syllabus and teach courses according to the goals and objectives of the department and its particular program curriculum.
- Maintain the online learning platform for student accessibility.
- Provide a learning environment that supports student success.
- Maintain virtual office hours for each class and mentor and guide students beyond the classroom.
- Ensure timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other school officials.
- Lead forum discussions and engage students in relevant discussion and coursework.
- Partner with the Program Director and AAPM (Academic Advisor and Program Manager) to address student concerns.
- Maintain and submit accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.
- Deliver final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.
- Enforce student conduct policies as outlined in the student handbook.
- Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the program, as relevant to the particular course.
- Affiliate faculty will not exceed 39 hours of work in one week or 8 hours of work in one day.
Required
- Board of Behavioral Science Licensure or 4 years of post graduate work with families.
- Able to work cooperatively within the seminary community.
- Able to support the goals and aims of the MSMFT degree program.
- Sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, gender, and denominational differences.
- Able to support the Fuller Statement of Faith and abide by the community standards.
- Experience with online and/or hybrid mode teaching
- Must provide own laptop for work.
Experience and Skills Preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with seminary education.
- Able to support the Fuller Statement of Faith and abide by Fuller Community Standards
- Experience with teaching adult learners
- Familiar with Canvas (academic learning platform)
Pay Scale
- Wage range: $22.00 to $51.00 per hour USD.
