Accounting Clerk

Joliet Staffing is now hiring an Accounting Clerk in Willowbrook, IL

Pay Rate: $20/hr.

Shift: 1st ( 8am- 4:30pm)

Position Overview:

We is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Clerk to join our growing Accounting team. This position is a full-time, on-site role working alongside the Accounting Supervisor and CFO. The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable duties and will contribute to maintaining smooth financial operations within a small team. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills and experience in using accounting software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing and process credit card payments over the phone.
• Create and send invoices to customers through USPS, email, and portal usage.
• Post customer payments to accounts.
• Contact customers with past-due accounts from aging reports, and follow up on new orders.
• Review credit applications and evaluate credit reports for new customer accounts.

Accounts Payable:

• Process vendor invoices through a paperless workflow system.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Follow up with vendors regarding missing or damaged products, replacements, and credits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• At least one year of previous experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable or any data entry experience.
• Strong keyboard typing speed and 10-key speed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (test may be administered).
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably Sage 100.
• Familiarity with paperless office systems and dual monitor setups.

Additional Qualifications:

• No criminal background related to fraud or theft.
• Strong follow-up and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team and manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
