Job Description:
Fulton County Health Center is seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Health Information Specialist to join our Health Information Department. In this role, you will provide essential support across various functions within the department, including chart analysis, responding to requests for information, imaging/scanning support, and managing incoming phone calls.
This position requires cross-training and expertise in all Health Information workflows to ensure the department operates efficiently and flexibly. As a Health Information Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our health records, contributing to the overall effectiveness of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chart analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of health records.
- Respond to requests for information, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Provide imaging and scanning support for health records.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls to the Health Information Department.
- Cross-train in all Health Information workflows to support various departmental needs.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and thoroughness in all tasks.

Requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma required, with experience in healthcare, information technology, or business fields preferred.
- Experience with medical records is highly desirable.
- Preferably a two-year Associate Degree in Health Information and Medical Terminology.
- Competence in using computers and computer applications, with prior experience in automated health records systems preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must value accuracy, professionalism, and thoroughness in all work.
