We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Manager to join our team. Functional Distro Co. is a rapidly growing non-alcoholic beverage distribution company, looking for an experience manager to help manage our distribution warehouse. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of our warehouse, ensure efficient processes, and manage a small team of warehouse staff. This role requires hands-on involvement, from managing inventory to making occasional deliveries, and ensuring that all operations run smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Management: Be present on-site to oversee all warehouse operations and address any issues in real-time.
- Occasional Deliveries: Perform occasional delivery duties to support the team and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Inbound/Outbound Shipping and Receiving: Oversee the shipping and receiving process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock checks, and manage reordering processes.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise a team of 2-3 warehouse/delivery staff, providing direction, support, and performance evaluations.
- Staff Training: Conduct initial training for new staff and provide ongoing training to ensure compliance with procedures and safety standards.
- Warehouse Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Process Implementation: Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy within the warehouse.
- Electronic Savvy: Utilize warehouse management systems and other software tools effectively to manage operations.
- Strong Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with staff, management, and customers.
- Equipment Handling: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and box trucks as needed; experience preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or lead role
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems and other relevant software
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items
- Forklift, pallet jack, and box truck experience preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management or a related role
- High school degree, GED or college degree preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work on-site
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Occasional weekend work may be required
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
