Who are you?
Education is important to us: You preferably have a Bachelor's Degree with 3-4 years of experience of Accounting/Payroll/Billing Experience
Experience is important to us: You understand Government contracting and various contract types (CP, T&M, FFP, etc). You have 3-4 years of experience with Costpoint and Excel and are a quick learner, looking to grow your understanding of Government Contracting and their career. Must enjoy working in a growing company and a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for overseeing the billing process for customers as well as processing payroll and performing General Ledger accounting.
Other duties include:
- Creating invoices and credit memos
- Work with AP to record customer payments
- Maintaining organized financial records to aid reporting
- Coordinating with Contracts for Contract mods including funding changes as well as Period of Performance
- Calculating YTD and CTD totals by referencing prior bills
- Updating customer files
- Sending invoices and payment reminders to customers
- Process semi-monthly payroll accurately to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
- File appropriate Federal, State and local taxes on monthly and quarterly basis
- Process Journal entries in General Ledger as necessary
- Assist with GL account reconciliations
- Other duties as assigned
