Job Summary: The Sr. Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting overall financial operations. The individual in this position will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and assisting with audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Month end close and Financial Reporting: (40%)
- Month end accrual and adjusting entries for select accounts as needed
- Monthly reconciliations of select balance sheet accounts including Fixed Assets
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and compliance with accounting principles.
General Ledger Maintenance: (10%)
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy.
Accounts Payable (Back-up): (5%)
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process payments to vendors.
Accounts Receivable and Cash: (40%)
- Monitor customer accounts for timely payment.
- Collection efforts to keep Accounts Receivable current
- Apply cash receipts to customer accounts daily
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
Financial Analysis: (5%)
- Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making.
- Provide insights into financial performance trends.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports.
Audit Support: (10%)
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and assist in the resolution of audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
Compliance: (As needed)
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Process Improvement: (As needed)
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Microsoft GP, QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
