Production Sample Assistant - Converse
The Production Sample Assistant is an individual contributor on the Converse Sourcing team that is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end sampling process, from prepositioning sample yardage to ordering and tracking garment samples. This person plays a key role in the development process, collaborating with Design, PD, Sales and Merchant teams to ensure accurate and timely representation of the assortment to support business decision-making, creative needs, and key market meetings. As the point person for all things sampling for the brand, this person will also be responsible for readiness reporting at a material- and style- level leading up to key milestones.

Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan - Fashion District
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Orders sample yardage at a greige and color-level to support color samples within PLM system or through Excel
- Processes vendor/supplier invoices for all sample yardage and sample-making costs, where applicable
- Owns all sampling-related needs for designated product categories, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of garment samples for global distribution
- Manages daily packages from overseas partners and organizes by product classification
- Maintains consistent communication with vendors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to brand calendar
- Acts as liaison between cross-functional partners including Design, Product Development, Sales, Merchandising, and external vendor and supplier partners as needed
- Attends weekly cross-functional meetings to understand product assortment, business
- priorities, and represents for all sampling-related topics
- Maintains seasonal sample yardage cost and readiness reporting, to be published to leaders and the business, respectively
- Keeps seasonal sample tracker updated, provides readiness reporting to teams leading up to key milestone meetings
- Supports building leadership dashboards, providing headlines and metrics ahead of milestone meetings
- Observes business processes, anticipating potential needs, and uncovering areas for
- improvement
- Prioritizes workload based on business needs and requirements; manages competing deliverables and business priorities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in product development or related area, or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of related experience in fashion/apparel industry
- Strong, consistent problem-solving abilities and result-driven communication with business partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills (data manipulation, pivot tables, v-lookup)
- Knowledge of the product lifecycle
- Superior organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of PLM is a plus
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, collaborative and able to work independently.
- Must be a team player and foster a commitment to teamwork with other associates
- Experience working directly with vendors
The pay range for this position is: $26.45 per hour/$55,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week)- $31.25 per hour/$65,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week)
