About the Role
Reports directly to the plant manager and is responsible for 8 direct reports.
As the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a key leadership role in our manufacturing operations, overseeing process development, product enhancement, machine optimization, labor standards, and cost reduction initiatives. You will be part of the decision-making team for this company’s Orangeburg, SC location. Your mission will be to drive continuous improvement, enhance machine utilization, and implement cost-effective solutions that maximize productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the Manufacturing Engineering team in developing innovative process improvements.
Optimize manufacturing efficiency through advanced process development and machine characterization.
Establish and refine labor standards to ensure productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Partner with internal teams and customers to implement high-quality engineering solutions.
Drive cost-reduction strategies while maintaining product excellence.
Oversee compliance with industry standards, including IEEE, UL, AEIC, NEC, ASTM, and ISO 9000.
Promote safety, environmental awareness, and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing environment.
Utilize data-driven insights and SPC methodologies to enhance operational performance.
Represent the manufacturing division during plant tours and customer visits.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with deep expertise in manufacturing engineering and a proven ability to drive process improvements. You should have:
✔ 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with at least 5-10 years in management.
✔ A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience in medium/heavy manufacturing).
✔ Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to engage with staff at all levels.
✔ Experience in cable manufacturing and familiarity with industrial specifications including extrusion.
✔ A systems-oriented mindset and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
✔ Proficiency in PC-based tools for analysis, reporting, and communication.
✔ Knowledge of metrology, thermoplastics, thermosets, and process improvement methodologies.
✔ A strong understanding of manufacturing safety, environmental regulations, and quality systems.
✔ A competitive, goal-oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.

Salary : $115,000 - $120,000
