Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or Sourcing is preferred.
- 2-5 years experience in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, preferably in the energy industry or related industries (such as process, chemicals, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience working with Oracle Financial and purchase order management software is preferred.
- Demonstrated client service experience, especially in meeting the needs and expectations of customers.
- Demonstrated experience in the area of supplier or contractor management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications.
- A highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Proactive with solutions, persistent.
- Effective negotiator.
- Demonstrated leadership potential, with a preference for some prior leadership experience.
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology with emphasis on Microsoft Office suite of products.

Description:
The Buyer/Sourcing Analyst in the Supply Chain Management Department will be responsible for purchasing quality materials, services, and equipment to requested specifications while meeting engineering, maintenance and operational schedules. In addition, this person will be responsible for providing analytical and research support to the Sourcing Team on key elements of Strategic Sourcing, including market analysis, supplier analysis, and specification development. The Sourcing Analyst will form an integral part of his/her sourcing team, and will have opportunity for promotion based on performance and experience gained. He/she can expect to work in a demanding, performance-orientated environment where efficiency, reliability, and teamwork are key drivers to success. Conduct spend category analysis, market analysis, and supplier analysis, and benchmarking/cost modeling.
- Purchasing materials, services and equipment at the lowest cost without sacrificing quality and specification requirements.
- Ensuring that delivery of materials coincides with Engineering, Maintenance and Operational schedules.
- Issuing purchase orders and releases against Service Agreements, following up orders for prompt delivery, and keeping abreast of market conditions.
- Examining requisitions for proper completion and approval.
- Coordinating document flows to ensure proper handling by Accounts Payable and receiving.
- Expediting and tracking orders to assure required delivery.
- Process invoices and forward to Accounts Payable.
- Identifying sourcing opportunities through analysis of business and industry data.
- Supporting the Sourcing Specialist and Senior Sourcing Specialist on strategic sourcing projects and supplier relationship management.
- Learning to follow, and then executing, a standard sourcing methodology to achieve total value solutions.
This includes:
- Analyzing spend and industry data
- Analyzing suppliers along cost, quality, and other metrics
- Conducting cost/pricing analysis through benchmarking and cost modeling
- Staying current with market conditions, prices, and industry and supplier trends
