What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist/Admin position at GAT Sport?
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and ensure invoices are processed accurately and paid-timely in accordance to Company's Standard Operating Procedures. This candidate should have experience in Accounts Payable, and support month end closes by ensuring expenses are properly recognized in the correct accounting period. Provide administrative support as needed.
You will need to report to the Monroe, CT office. Not a remote position, with the exception of remote Wednesdays.
Responsibilities
- Obtain appropriate payment approvals for all invoices
- Perform PO matching and obtain approvals or follow up on discrepancies with purchasers/buyers
- Input vendor invoices according to standard operating procedures
- Print out invoices from AP Mailbox and distribute for payment approvals
- Verify appropriate general ledger coding, approvals and backup are present on invoices
- Prepare month-end and year-end AP accruals
- Create weekly payment runs for review to ensure timely payments
- Research and solve problems with vendors timely
- Respond to payment inquires timely
- Manage/own the AP email box
- Point person to gather new Supplier setup information
- Collect supplier set up forms and required documents
- Verify supplier payment information
- File and maintain supplier set up forms and approval info
- Maintain Contract/Agreement files
- Sort and deliver mail
- Order supplies for the office
- Order Friday lunches for the office
- Filing
- Other assignments as requested by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, not required
- Experience processing Accounts Payable invoices
- Familiar with General Ledger account coding
- Working knowledge with ERP systems. NetSuite experience a plus
- High degree of accuracy in data entry skills, attention to detail and confidentiality
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and internal controls
- Good organization, time management, and follow-up skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to help where needed
- Ability to multitask
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
