Position Overview
An Interior Subcontractor is a skilled professional responsible for performing a variety of interior repairs, maintenance, and improvements to residential and commercial properties. This role requires expertise in completing a wide range of tasks including minor electrical and plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance and repair tasks. The ideal candidate will work efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform minor electrical repairs such as fixture installation, outlet replacement, and lighting upgrades
- Complete basic plumbing tasks including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures
- Conduct drywall repair, patching, and painting to restore wall surfaces to like-new condition
- Install and repair doors, hardware, and trim work to enhance interior aesthetics
- Mount fixtures, blinds, curtain rods, and other hanging items securely and properly
- Perform flooring repairs including tile replacement, laminate fixes, and minor hardwood repairs
- Inspect and identify potential issues within the property and recommend appropriate solutions
- Maintain a clean work area and properly dispose of debris after completing repairs
- Document all completed work thoroughly with before/after photos when appropriate
- Communicate effectively with the general contractor about project status, challenges, and material needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial repairs and maintenance
- Must have reliable transportation
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Working Relationship
As a subcontractor, you will report directly to the general contractor who will provide project specifications, timelines, and quality expectations. You will be expected to coordinate with other trade specialists when necessary and maintain clear communication throughout each project.
