JOB TITLE: Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Consultant
PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: 14501 Sweitzer Lane Laurel, MD
RATE: $48/hr - $52/hr
DURATION: 3 months
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Contingent Upon Contract Award
Overview:
We are seeking a qualified consultant to enhance and modernize its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. The consultant will assess the current ERM framework, identify gaps, and develop a comprehensive strategy to improve risk management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the client’s existing ERM framework against industry standards such as COSO ERM and ISO 31000.
- Identify weaknesses and areas for improvement within the current ERM framework.
- Document existing risk management processes, governance structures, policies, and reporting mechanisms.
- Conduct a comprehensive enterprise risk assessment and update the organization’s risk register and taxonomy.
- Develop an ERM playbook, including step-by-step processes, templates, tools, and KPIs for long-term sustainability.
- Implement a change management framework to support ERM adoption across the organization.
- Develop and facilitate training materials and stakeholder workshops.
- Create a strategic roadmap to ensure continuous improvement and integration of emerging risks within the ERM program.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating ERM programs in large, complex organizations, preferably in the public or utility sectors.
- Strong knowledge of ERM frameworks, including COSO ERM and ISO 31000.
- Proven expertise in change management strategies, stakeholder engagement, and training development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop actionable ERM playbooks, including tools and templates.
- Certifications in risk management, such as Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager.
- Experience in the public sector and utility industry, particularly in the water sector, with an understanding of regulatory and operational challenges.
- Experience working with government agencies or public utilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
