ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a System Administrator to join our team supporting the Pantex Plant ! This position is full-time and will be based out of Amarillo, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for standing up and administrating two high-performance computing clusters at the Pantex Plant.
- Installing an operating system based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux as well as the necessary networking required to have the corresponding systems be accessible over the enterprise unclassified and classified networks.
- Configure an operating system to meet various Pantex and DOE / DoD requirements.
- Install a variety of national-lab made software packages on the systems and validate them.

The NNSA's Pantex Plant, located in Amarillo, Texas, assembles, disassembles, tests, and evaluates nuclear weapons in support of the NNSA stockpile stewardship program while also performing research and development in conventional high explosives and serving as an interim storage site for plutonium pits removed from dismantled weapons (energy.gov).
