Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a System Administrator in Amarillo, TX. This position requires an active Q clearance.

This position will serve Pantex.
Preference for cluster experience. Job will consist of standing up two machines, with the classified machine requiring more work earlier on. The unclassified machine will require installing a new OS and configuring it, which will be more intensive. After both machines have been stood up, candidate will be able to do some work remotely.
- Master's degree in a technical field with limited experience or Bachelors degree in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience or Associates degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience.
- Requires advanced knowledge and understanding in area of expertise and associated equipment, processes or systems.
- An Active DOE Q level clearance is required to be considered.
Must be proficient in one or more of the following:Red Hat Linux Server administration
Understanding and using essential tools for handling files, directories, and command-line environments. Operations documentation/runbooks
Operating running systems, including booting into different run levels, identifying processes, and controlling services Configuring local storage using partitions and logical volumes RAID configuration/maintenance
Creating and configuring file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, access control lists, and network file systems. Deploying, configuring, and maintaining systems, including software installation and updating.
Managing of users and groups
Managing of security and basic firewall configurations. Parallel and multiprocessing programming interfaces
High Performance Computing cluster schedulers and resource managers Strong scripting skills in shell and/or python
Specific Requirements -Must have experience with Linux Administration Must be able to obtain and maintain a Q-Clearance Full onsite attendance required
Specific Deliverables -Candidate will be responsible for standing up and administratingtwo high-performance computing clusters at the Pantex Plant. This will include installing an operating system based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux as well as the necessary networking required to have the corresponding systems be accessible over the enterprise unclassified and classified networks. The operating system will need to be configured to meet various Pantex and DoE/DoD requirements. A variety of national-lab made software packages will need to be installed on the systems and validated.
