Overview
Department 475 is responsible for managing the EBLAN portion of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) Network IS #190 at Electric Boat. EBLAN is an air-gapped information system (IS) that consists of over 1300 computers and 2700. The IS extends to multiple sites across three states.
D475 seeks a highly motivated individual to join its desktop support team as a Desktop Engineer team. This role requires in depth knowledge and experience with all aspects of imaging and application deployment of client devices. This includes configuration, customization, implementation, testing, patching, changes, and operational support of the operating system and all deployed desktop applications. The candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for end user device hardware and software and provide higher level support to users when escalated by Management System Coordinator. The individual will be expected to perform root cause assessments and remediation as it relates to the desktop team for problem resolutions.

The Desktop Engineers responsibilities include but, are not limited to:
- Build, manage and maintain clients using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and BigFix
- Develop and maintain device images
- Package and deploy software to end user devices
- Administer application control by using Trellix (McAfee) to list applications
- Provide thorough documentation on all current and newly implemented technologies
- Research complex technical problems and identify, implement and communicate technical fixes
- Attending training sessions to maintain and improve skillset as well as cross-train peers
- Prepare and lead training for staff within the department
- Lead desktop engineer related projects involving multiple teams
- Support special desktop projects which will require occasional weekend on-call support

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree
- 4 years of related IT experience
- Interim clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred:
- Working experience with SCCM and/or BigFix
- Experience working Application Control listing applications using Trellix/McAfee (preferred) or similar
- Relevant IT and/or cyber security certifications (Security , A , etc.)
- Demonstrated work with DoD STIG requirements
- Previous experience administering DoD, military, or Federal Government system
