The Program Manager plans and controls the rollout of complex large scale projects so that inputs are defined and available, costs are known and controlled, processes are defined to customer specifications and due dates are realistic and achievable.
The intention of this job description is to provide an overview of primary responsibilities for this position. GSM expects that tasks and requirements will change from time to time.
Organizational Relationships and Authority
This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. This position will collaborate to solve problems, identify and implement improvement and cost reduction opportunities. The Program Manager will know they have achieved the goal when GSM consensus is we had everything we needed to make the project successful.
This team member is expected to halt and correct operations should they encounter an unsafe/incorrect process is occurring.
Additional Responsibilities Include
- Defines, selects, requisitions, coordinates and delivers the appropriate resources (equipment, tools, material and labor) needed for the project.
- Conducts tests of unknown elements to fully understand possibilities
- Assists in the verification of parts during multiple part large scale projects
- Maintains ownership of the part until part is produced at rate in production
- Champions the Management of Change process for new programs
- Controls and safeguards customer records through revision control, network and security measures
- Interfaces directly with the customer to understand large scale projects and designs for manufacturability
- Takes responsibility to define proper milestones and achieves them

Qualifications and Competencies
To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate expert knowledge of the equipment and have the ability to execute the processes within their assigned department. They must possess computer skills:
- Microsoft Office suite
- ERP System
- Laptop, tablet and/or desktop computer
- Engineering project management software
- Engineering software and programs (Solid works preferred)

Education
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Program Management Professional (preferred)
- Solid Works Essentials or equivalent (preferred)
Experience
Minimum 2 years in project management or other relevant experience
