MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR– Full-Time – Generations at Rock Island - Immediate Opening
Generations at Rock Island is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at our 5-Star Quality-rated facility in Rock Island, Illinois. The position available is Full-Time (Non-Exempt) with an 8-hour shift (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) Monday - Friday. Will need to be On-Call for Emergencies or other events such as unannounced State surveys. Previous experience in a healthcare setting required.

The Maintenance Director’s primary role is to maintain the orderly functioning of all equipment in the facility.
including the kitchen, laundry, heating, air conditioning and elevators as well as purchasing necessary supplies for repairs, maintenance and emergencies within budgetary guidelines while adhering to health and safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Director:
- Ensure proper maintenance of all electricity and plumbing in the entire facility
- Ensure proper maintenance of all appliances and machinery, laundry equipment, forced air units, air handlers, boilers and heating units in the boiler room, sump pumps, emergency generator, fire alarms and elevators
- Maintain and document schedule of hot water checks in residents’ rooms, baths, showers and all general hot water sources in the facility
- Check and replace air filters in all units in the building and on the roof
- Supervise all repairs, construction, renovation, and remodeling and routine maintenance of the building and all department equipment
- Schedule with contracted companies and observe periodic/annual inspections of fire alarms, fire extinguishers, ANSUL systems and generator
- Modify department policies to ensure personnel compliance
- Provide leadership, training and mentorship of Maintenance Aides
- Adhere to established fire, disaster, safety, infection control and evacuation policies and procedures
- Be available to troubleshoot emergencies and urgent repairs
- Work monthly rotation as weekend supervisor as part of Department Head responsibilities

Requirements
of the Maintenance Director:
- A high school diploma or G.E.D is preferred
- Must be deemed eligible to work in Healthcare by the IL Department of Public Health. May require fingerprinting.
- A valid Illinois Driver’s License and good driving record
- Life Safety Code experience a plus
- Willingness to be on-call for emergencies or unannounced State surveys
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a Long-Term Care or other health care facility preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, painting, heating and air-conditioning
- Be able to lift, push, stoop, crawl, squat, kneel, climb stairs, and lift in excess of fifty (50) pounds as required
- Must have strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
- Be personable and professional with residents, families and staff
