- Schedules and presents workshops and training for the HSHF staff, school and community partners on PSC change strategies consistent with grant guidelines.
- Facilitates the recruitment, training and resource development for partner organization health champions.
- Facilitates the development of WSWCWC/wellness teams in eligible schools and community partners.
- Works collaboratively with education and community partners to identify opportunities and provide support in improving the organization’s policies, systems, and environments in the area of healthy food choices and physical activity.
- Completes and organizes paperwork and files to meet grant requirements, including evaluation data.
- Participates in developing and implementing the evaluation of program effectiveness.
- Participates in professional development opportunities as directed.
- Collaborates with other staff and participates in staff and program meetings as directed.
- Serves on the HSHF leadership team.
- Assists in the completion of necessary paperwork, documentation, narrative reports, grant applications, correspondence, and communication to assure all grant requirements are met in a professional and timely manner.

Job Summary: The Healthy Schools Healthy Families (HSHF) Nutrition Education PSC Lead will collaborate with HSHF staff, schools and community partners to explore and implement policies, systems, and environment change strategies consistent with HSHF nutrition education program guidelines. The PSE Lead will facilitate training and technical assistance for staff, school, and community partners in PSE change.Genesee Intermediate
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required in one of the following disciplines: Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Education, Health Science, Public Health, Education, Food Service Management, or related field.
Experience:
Documented diverse professional experience in grand-funded programs, management, marketing, staff development, program evaluation, and continuous improvement. Minimum of 2 years as a Nutrition Educator or in a similar position. Thorough knowledge of SNAP-Ed program and grant requirements. Experience in providing program and professional development coordination, and understanding the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model of health.
Skills/Other:
Evidence of strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as an effective team member. Evidence of experience presenting curriculum to students of all ages (Pre-K – 12 through adults). Experience coordinating programs preferred. Evidence of being self-directed and showing initiative. Strong problem-solving skills to identify needs and develop solutions. Evidence of accurate record keeping, and data collection skills. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Ability to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with program goals. Maintains a positive working relationship with parents/guardians, students, staff and community partners. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to work a flexible workday and work week to include some evenings and weekends. This will happen somewhat regularly. Represents the district in a professional manner. Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Discretion with confidential information. Exercises good judgment and makes decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative guidelines. Reliable personal transportation to travel to various program sites throughout Genesee County. Demonstrate physical stamina necessary for lifting, kneeling, and reaching while maintaining personal balance and stability.
