What You’ll Be Doing
- Facilitate the completion of construction projects and ensure an adequate and timely flow of materials and equipment.
- Determine supply needs through technical details and schedules.
- Manage the orders for material and equipment to meet project requirements.
- Coordinate the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications.
- Work with PM and management to resolve problems and speed up delivery of orders.
- Keep accurate records.
- Monitor inventory of supplies for different jobs or sites.
- Monitor the construction process and ensure that projects are completed on time and according to specifications.
- Uses engineering and technical knowledge to ensure that components, systems, and equipment complement the project.
- Coordinate construction scheduling and provide communication with project management regarding progress and conflicts.
- Perform work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Typically reports to a project manager daily.
- Knowledge of construction expediting or relevant position/experience
- Knowledge of project management principles
- Ability to understand technical specifications of material and equipment
- Great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to solve problems
- Confidence on the phone, as the role requires you to speak with vendors to get equipment and materials to sites on time
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and filing systems
- Strong time management, negotiation, and organization skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 0-5 Years of experience
- Negotiation skills
