Genesys Works NYC (GWNYC) was launched in 2019 and is a rapidly growing site currently supporting more than 60 interns. In response to the New York City markets increasing demand for diverse entry-level talent, GWNYC aims to double in size over the next three years.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager (CPM) will be a critical contributor on the Genesys Works NYC team. Reporting to the Executive Director, the CPM is responsible for leading organic growth within our existing corporate partners (CPs) and ensuring we meet our target of 85 percent renewal of internship seats. The CPM role is a dynamic one requiring a high level of initiative, an ability to steward and cultivate multiple relationships simultaneously, and the ability to work with partners to efficiently and effectively onboard supervisors and interns and ensure their success across the year.
Working as part of GWNYCs Corporate Partnerships team, and in collaboration with colleagues across departments and leaders inside and outside of Genesys Works, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design and implementation of corporate partner stewardship and growth strategies with support from Genesys Works NYCs Executive Director (ED) and Genesys Works Nationals Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships (SDCP).
- Report CP progress to the organization on a regular basis to ED, SDCP, greater team, and board
- Manage and grow assigned existing corporate partners by:
- Work with the ED and SDCP to develop annual internships goals
- Based on overall internship goals, execut on specific goals for CPM
- Steward and retain 85% of internship seats; aim to replace 15% of seats annually
- Maintain current understanding of the overall job market and hiring/downsizing trends of our current CPs
- Increase the total number of internships for existing corporate partners
- Collaborate closely with Program Team leadership on account strategy, events, and systems updates in order to ensure high quality experience for both the interns and corporate partners
- Support Program Coordinators on CP stewardship and corporate-side intern management through regular account management meetings
- Manage sales operations, including getting contracts signed, regularly updating onboarding logistics, creating position records, business unit creation, and delivery of certifications of insurance for assigned CPs
- Track and update information regarding partners, opportunities, contracts, and positions in CRM system (Salesforce)
- Collaborate with Program Team to ensure successful intern placements for all internships by providing details and insight on partner companies culture, positions, responsibilities, and other info as needed
- Work with the National marketing team to create customized marketing materials within brand standards for corporate partners as needed
- Cultivate top/senior level executives and champions within each assigned corporate partner
- Own and manage corporate-partner-related operations tasks as needed to ensure all assigned CPs make timely payments for services rendered, including but not limited to AR, 3rd party systems, etc.
- Represent Genesys Works in organizations, luncheons, and events to engage existing and prospective corporate partners through, for example, public speaking or networking opportunities
- Generate leads for new partners, enter them into Salesforce, and work with Genesys Works NYCs Director of Corporate Engagement (DCE) to engage them.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Passion for GWNYC's mission, culture, and values is essential.
- Tangible experience identifying, closing, and stewarding multiple corporate partners over time
- Prior youth development and/or workforce development experience a plus. Experience selling staffing or management services to corporate clients is of high interest.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of CPs and build long-term relationships
- Ability to effectively and diplomatically balance corporate partners needs while advocating for student success.
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
- Strong proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) systems is required; Salesforce preferred
- Experience working with all staff levels from executive management to program staff
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
- Independent self-starter who takes initiative yet maintains a collaborative working style
- A track record of setting and achieving goals and meeting ongoing performance metrics
Other Information
- This is a hybrid role with in-person meetings occurring regularly in New York City and occasionally in the NYC metro area
- Due to the frequency of in-person meetings, candidates must be based out of the NYC metro area
