Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic at construction sites and other operational areas. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate various heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage traffic flow in and around construction sites to ensure safety for workers and the public.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and graders as needed.
- Conduct utility locating to prevent damage to underground services during excavation.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate site activities effectively.
- Monitor site conditions and communicate any hazards or issues promptly.
- Maintain clear signage and barriers to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones.
- Assist in paving operations as required by the project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, including bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and graders.
- Knowledge of utility locating techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to direct traffic effectively.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Valid driver's license may be required based on operational needs.
