What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at GEON Performance Solutions?
The HR Generalist implements and administers GEON's human resources services, policies, and programs. This position assists in decision making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, rewarding, and developing the industry’s best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administers GEON's HR policies, programs and procedures for the employees in assigned group. These include salary and wage administration, health and welfare benefits inquiries, retirement plan inquiries, recruitment, HR information systems, payroll/time and attendance recording, organizational development and training plans.
- Partners with the recruiting team and the business unit to staff and hire hourly, non-exempt or lower level exempt business unit positions.
- Ensures that GEON reward and recognition programs are utilized.
- Coordinates on-boarding activities for business unit hires.
- Development of requisitions for business unit positions.
- Assists as needed with employee counseling, conflict resolution issues and individual performance improvement programs. This can include working directly with employees and/or with managers and supervisors.
- Develops fundamental knowledge of business units, including customers, competitors, products, markets and key business metrics.
- Gains exposure to manufacturing environments through regular visits to business unit plants.
- Special projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is required,
- Proven experience in an HR environment; effective in developing and executing best in class human resource strategies to include driving business decisions, client group support, training and development, and compliance initiatives.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or a similar operations environment required.
- Experienced in coaching and developing team members.
- Strong collaboration skills with other HR functions as well as the business.
- Strong internal customer orientation and customer centricity.
- Demonstrated process improvement and project management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication and analytical skills.
- Proven negotiating and administrative skills.
- Experience influencing others and building teams.
- Strong multi tasking skills with ability to consistently prioritize and address key issues and initiatives.
- 3 years of related experience required specific to the position. Previous experience leading change management and effective employee relations program support. Previous recruitment experience highly desired.

Salary : $69,400 - $87,800
