Summary of Position:
Our Sanitation Technician will be responsible for the overall cleaning of all Food Contact equipment in the production areas and the cleanliness for the entire plant. Our technician is required to monitor all cleaning and sanitizing of all food contact areas and ensure that all equipment is being cleaned by the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures. Will adhere to Employee, Food safety and Sanitary rules and regulations. Ensure that all cleaning schedules and tasks are completed on time and maintained according to company standard operating. Will work within defined timeframe to avoid impacts to production schedules. Complete required paperwork and reports regarding regular inspections and sanitation violations. This position must be able to work in a hot or cold, soiled and wet environment continuously, able to work within a flexible schedule and work overtime to support business needs.

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities
1.Maintain plant and equipment according to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and regulated food processing standards.
a.Responsible to effectively understand all Master Sanitation Schedule requirements for each Production line.
b.Review Production schedule with Lead to understand the next day’s schedule needs
c.Properly measure and follow mixing procedures, ability to accurately interpret written instructions, and handle complex jobs efficiently
d.Effectively conduct a Post Op inspection with the Quality Technician to ensure cleanliness
e.Responsible for effective use and understanding the importance of all PPE issued and report any issues with PPE to the Sanitation Lead
f.Safety lock out and tag out all equipment assigned as necessary.
g.Ensure all cleaning chemicals are used, labeled, and stored correctly in compliance with Safety Data Sheets
h.Responsible for picking up product debris and garbage from the floors.
i.Remove and empty trash containers
j.Exchange vegetable waste bins as needed.
k.Rinse belts as needed using proper sanitation tools.
l.May be required to sweep and/or mop the floors.
m.May be required to clean boots, and other PPE equipment.
n.May be required to squeegee water buildup in the Raw Cooler Area.
2.Remove condensation from walls, ceilings and equipment.
a.Required to use tools to remove condensation buildup on electrical panels, walls, ceilings and packaging equipment.
3.Monitor Hand and Foot Bath Areas.
a.Validate proper chemical levels in hand and foot baths in both prep rooms.
b.Be able to document and record chemical levels, multiple times per shift.
c.Keep all hand and foot baths free of vegetable debris and foreign material throughout the shift.
4.Work Safely:
a.Wear appropriate personal protection equipment always
b.Report on unsafe conditions.
c.Follow all plant safety policies and procedures.
5.Perform other duties as directed by team leader, supervisor and management
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent in combination with relative experience
- Able to work independently, following processes and procedures
- General understanding of the manufacturing process and equipment.
- Willingness to work within a flexible work schedule and OT as needed.
- Understand basic food safety practices (GMP’s).
- Knowledge and ability to operate basic tools, pallet jacks, etc.
- Bilingual a plus, Spanish
Physical Requirements
1.Must be able to work in a hot/cold, soiled and wet environment continuously.
2.Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, respiratory protection, gloves, boots, aprons and/or rain suits may be required to be worn.
3.Ability to constantly or continuously:
a.Handle material from floor to waist level.
b.Walk or stand for extended periods.
c.Bend, extend or twist your neck and back.
d.Frequently grip, reach, lift or pull equipment.
4.Ability to handle or be in contact with sanitation or cleaning chemicals.
5.Frequent climbing of stairs
